📍 How does automatic city detection work?

Across Us utilizes Apple’s CoreLocation and CLGeocoder directly on your iPhone. Your device reverse-geocodes your GPS coordinate into a city name locally. Only the resulting coarse city string (e.g. "Tokyo, JP") is sent to friends. Exact latitude, longitude, and routes never leave your phone.

🔋 Does Across Us drain my battery?

No. Across Us does not perform continuous GPS navigation tracking. It registers for Apple’s opportunistic Significant Location Changes and Visits APIs, waking up momentarily only when you move across substantial geographic distances (like traveling to another city).

📱 How do I configure Lock Screen & Home Screen Widgets?

• Home Screen: Long-press your home screen → tap the "+" in the top corner → select Across Us → pick Small, Medium, or Large.
• Lock Screen: Long-press your lock screen → Customize → Add Widgets → pick Circular or Rectangular shape.
• Widget Privacy: In the app under You → Widget & Lock Screen, you can choose to show full details, hide friend names, or hide all details on the Lock Screen.

✨ What are Same-City Moments?

When you and an accepted friend happen to be in the same city, Across Us celebrates the coincidence with a single gentle notification and an ongoing shared moment card, helping you reconnect spontaneously.

🗑️ How do I delete my account?

You have full ownership of your data. Open the app → go to the You (Profile) tab → tap Delete account. All your user profile data, friendship links, and presence records will be instantly and permanently deleted from our servers.
